PACK is a small charity based in Mombasa, Kenya, which raises money to provide life-saving chemotherapy drugs to children from low income families who suffer from the Burkitt’s Lymphoma cancer.
In 1999 a group of children from Ward 10 of the Coast General Hospital, some of whom were Burkitt’s patients, were treated to an afternoon out on a local floating restaurant. A magician entertained the children and a great time was had by all!
After the event some of the party organisers visited the hospital and were concerned to learn that some of the children with Burkitt’s were dying unnecessarily because their families were unable to afford the expensive chemotherapy drugs needed to combat the disease.
That evening PACK was formed.
